For the meringue pie filling: egg whites from large eggs; fresh lemon juice; granulated sugar
For the cake: unsalted butter, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and eggs.
Make meringue pies by combining egg whites (at room temperature) with a small amount of lemon juice (~25 ml or ~0.85 fl oz). Beat on high until stiff peaks form (when you lift your beaters out of the mixture it should remain in place without falling over), then continue to add more lemon juice until desired consistency has been reached. Continue beating for another 30 seconds – this will ensure that it holds its shape once piped onto the cakes later on! Now we need to make sure our oven is preheated to 350 degrees F before moving forward.
Next, grease and flour three cake pans – this will help them to release easily after baking. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt before setting aside. In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in lemon zest & juice (reserving some for later). Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients mix well. Pour batter into prepared pans bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean allow cakes to cool COMPLETELY! Now it’s time to assemble our tower frosting between each layer with reserved lemon juice pipe meringue pie filling onto the top of the cake using a star tip
For the decoration: lemon slices, blueberries
Cost: $15 for ingredients to make three cakes

Best Time to Serve a Lemon Cake at Your Next Party
Deciding when exactly your next party should depend on what type it will be: if it’s going to be something casual like just sitting around watching movies or playing board games then any time works well; however if you’re planning on having the party at a more formal occasion then it’s best to check what is already scheduled: when else are your guests going to be eating cake? Make sure to plan for enough time between courses; don’t serve everyone dessert immediately after dinner.
Now that you know even more about lemon cakes, it’s time to decide whether or not this recipe is right for your next party. This cake was delicious and really easy to make; the only downside is that there wasn’t enough! Since we’re hosting a dessert party where people will be eating sweet dishes, I think this would work out great – especially since it’ll be served with some of our other favorite recipes like Mini Lemon Cakes and Chilled Lemon Ricotta Soup.
